About The Cellar Dinnerware

To make setting the table less of a task and more of a daily delight with beautiful, well-made pieces that anyone can effortlessly mix and match.

How The Cellar Dinnerware Was Born

We began in 1971 as a gourmet kitchenware concept in the San Francisco flagship store, pioneering a new approach to home dining and entertaining retail. Our concept quickly gained recognition for bringing together quality tableware, appliances, and kitchenware in a curated shopping experience. In 1974, our founder Edward Finkelstein brought The Cellar concept to New York after his promotion to president of the New York division, expanding our reach to the East Coast.

Our design philosophy was influenced by renowned retailers including Harrods, Pottery Barn, and Crate & Barrel. We established ourselves as a private label brand focused on flatware, dinnerware, and glassware, offering modern whiteware and stylish tableware collections. Over the decades, we expanded to major flagship locations, including the Chicago flagship in 2006.

Today, we continue our legacy of offering clean lines, playful accents, and warm tones perfect for any kitchen and tabletop. Our collections feature everything from classic white porcelain to colorful stoneware, providing versatile options for everyday dining and special occasions alike.
